Hey everyone! I am back with another update about what has been going on in my ministry with Word of Life as well as my personal life. Before getting to that though, I just want to say Happy Thanksgiving! God has been so good and is so faithful and I am so thankful for all of His many blessings, including such things as the beautiful fall colours which you can see in the picture above. I am also very thankful for my family and friends and for all of you who support me both financially and through prayer. I hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and consider the many blessings each one of you also has in your lives!

Ministry Update

Getting to know each other during Opening Weekend

A lot has happened in these past few months. For much of July and August I was busy getting ready for our Opening Weekend at Word of Life and a brand new school year and having our students arrive on campus. It was such a blessing seeing this event come together with the help of a great team that we have here.

The students have been here for about a month now and I have had the opportunity to get to know them better through conversation, a class hike, and especially through our discipleship group time. I also had the opportunity of travelling down to a Blue Jays Game with a few of the students! That was a lot of fun!

My role for this year is essentially the same as last year as I am still working in the academic department as well as student life. We are currently getting ready for a fun fall event which we call “Harvest Bash”. In addition, I will be preparing for speaking at one of our chapels and also preparing a speaking session for our winter camp coming up, so prayer for these preparations would be wonderful!

Personal Update

In addition to my job with Word of Life, I also am working part-time at my local church in an administrative role. This has been a tremendous blessing to me. I am so thankful for my church family and the way we can pour into each other’s lives through conversations and activities. One of the ways this happens is through our “Life Groups”. I have the opportunity of being a part of two Life Groups, one of which I lead where we have a time of talking about life and growing in our walks with God together and then just play some board games and build relationships through that. It’s a lot of fun!

Besides these things, I will also, Lord willing, be preparing to preach another sermon sometime likely before the end of the year. Speaking of which, I preached a sermon recently in July on the topic of Jesus being the Resurrection and the Life. It was a huge blessing to be able to do this! If you are interested, you can go to the following link at about the 28 minute mark to listen to my sermon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIYqKFjuoHk

Other than that, I do have to say that it will be great to get some rest over this Thanksgiving Break and spend some good quality time with family! I am looking forward to it!

Bible Verse:

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever!
Psalm 107:1

Prayer Requests:

  1. Please pray for Word of Life students as they will be doing some evangelizing over the Thanksgiving Break. Please pray that they would have courage, be at peace, remember God is with them and be able to share the gospel effectively. Please also pray that they get some rest and enjoy some meaningful time with family and friends.
  2. Please pray for me that I would continue to draw closer to God and love Him with all my heart, soul, mind and strength.
  3. Please pray for people all around Canada celebrating Thanksgiving that it would point them to God and giving thanks to Him for who He is and all He has done.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
